Here's where we'll talk about all the secrets to writing a great script. This is important because the script is often where your story comes to life. The visuals are a supporting element, the star of the show is your story that will most likely come to life with a voice-over.

So let's look at how you can write scripts that captivate, persuade and entertain. After all, they all have one thing in common, they elicit an emotive response. Here's how to tap into that...

1. Take your audience on a journey

If there's one thing that will turn your audience off it's a static story - one that doesn't go anywhere and leaves us feeling unfulfilled.

The main secret to captivating an audience is surprising and delighting them with your story. That may mean leading them in one direction only to turn it around. Just think about your favorite movies, they're probably your favorite because they show a transformation from from phase of life to another, or a hero's journey to find his family, or a character overcoming a monster.

It's these twists and turns that we love. And you might be thinking this only applies to Hollywood films but with a little creativity you can turn anything into a compelling story. That's where brand characters come in!

2. Make it relatable

To fully connect with your story, it's crucial that your audience can see themselves or someone they know in the story. This will ensure it's more impactful by helping them relate to the journey the characters are on.

3. Use vivid language

Just like reading a book, interesting words, phrases, metaphors and more keep us interested. They help us build a stronger picture in our minds and therefore we develop a stronger emotional response.

This is particularly effective when comparing one thing to another - saying it saves 100kg of CO2 could be the same as saying, it's like planting 10,000 trees.
